As ALL ACCESS first tipped on MONDAY (NET NEWS 3/8), EMI MUSIC’s CAPITOL NASHVILLE has announced its new imprint, designed to be a sister label for CAPITOL/NASHVILLE. The new label will be called EMI RECORDS NASHVILLE.
ANGELA LANGE, formerly Dir./Promotion, Southeast, has been named VP/Promotions. LANGE, originally from ATLANTA, joined CAPITOL to work the West Coast in 2002 and moved to NASHVILLE in 2005. Prior to joining CAPITOL she was at LYRIC STREET, also in the West Coast.
The first artist for the label will be TROY OLSEN, whose debut album is slated for release later this year.
The announcement of the EMI launch was made by Pres./CEO MIKE DUNGAN. "Establishing EMI RECORDS/NASHVILLE is part of our growth strategy and a way to provide artists a terrific creative home and a top-notch, dedicated team to help build their careers,” DUNGAN said. “We couldn’t be more pleased to have an artist as unique and groundbreaking as TROY christen the roster of EMI RECORDS NASHVILLE. This demonstrates our commitment to and investment in the Country genre. Fasten your seatbelt, because we have a lot more in store for fans and our partners in retail and radio.”
The EMI RECORDS NASHVILLE team, to be announced shortly, will report into MIKE DUNGAN.
