MAPLETON COMMUNICATIONS Triple A/Americana hybrid KPIG/MONTEREY is converting its online stream to a commercial-free subscription model. KPIG is considered an Internet pioneer that started streaming its unique radio station back in 1995 and is now the first to try this new approach. For less than 17 cents a day, subscribers will be able to stream KPIG 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
“The streaming business model has been a challenge for broadcasters as the more listeners you have and time spent listening, the more royalties the radio station pays to SOUNDEXCHANGE,” said ADAM NATHANSON CEO/Pres. of MAPLETON COMMUNICATIONS. “Converting the online stream to a subscription model that is ‘commercial-free’ makes business sense as it will preserve the KPIG online stream with subscriber support and also address consumer demand for more PIG music online.”
KPIG is additionally heard on signals in SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA, SAN FRANCISCO and SACRAMENTO. The station is also syndicated. To learn about the new online subscription service, visit here.
“For those that know KPIG Radio, it is a one-of-a-kind entertainment experience that plays music you cannot hear anywhere else on the radio or web,” said FRANK CAPRISTA, KPIG’s OM “KPIG stream online continues to grow with PIG listeners all over the world”
