Hilton Head Sales Closes; Ohio AM CP Sold

JOHN BROOMFIELD's JB BROADCASTING has closed on the sale of Classic Hits WWJN (104.9 THE SURF, formerly Variety 104.9 JOHN FM)/RIDGELAND-HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC to C.J. JONES' LOW COUNTRY RADIO, LLC with partners JOE MULE and JOEL GARRETT for $640,000 in cash and seller paper. The station is changing its calls to WLHH ("We Love HILTON HEAD").
TODD W. FOWLER of FOWLER MEDIA CONSULTING served as broker for the deal.
24-7 BROADCASTING, INC. is selling the construction permit for a new AM in ZANESFIELD, OH to SOARING EAGLE PROMOTIONS, INC. for $25,000.
In other FCC filings, CORLEY RUSHING COMMUNICATIONS, LLC has applied for a silent STA to take WQBC-A/VICKSBURG, MS off the air. The station lost its tower site and plans to "imminently" file for a new construction permit to move to a new site.
DRY CREEK COMMUNITY BROADCASTING has also applied for a silent STA for its low-power KAPY-LP/PORT ANGELES, WA, which lost its transmitter site "due to radiation concerns."
HORIZON CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP has taken FM translator K237DT/GREENBRIER, AL off the air "in anticipation of the assignment of the license of the station and to save scarce resources."
And TUGART PROPERTIES, LLC has taken FM translator W225BH/CARNESVILLE, GA off the air for a transmitter site move.
