George Strait Announces San Antonio Tour Stop

MCA/NASHVILLE star GEORGE STRAIT announced at the opening festivities of the 28th Annual “GEORGE STRAIT Team Roping Classic” finals in SAN ANTONIO on FRIDAY (3/12) that he will be bringing his 2010 tour to the ALAMODOME in SAN ANTONIO. The stadium show is scheduled for MAY 1st and will also include VALORY/STARSTRUCK artist REBA McENTIRE, MCA labelmate LEE ANN WOMACK and MERCURY's RANDY ROGERS BAND.

According to THE BOOT blog, 469 teams anted up the $1000 entry fee to compete in the “GEORGE STRAIT Team Roping Classic.” GEORGE roped with three different partners but did not qualify for the finals. JAKE LONG and COLEMAN PRESTON took home the grand prize of $160,000, custom painted CHEVY SILVERADO DUALIES, horse trailers, saddles, roping bags and WRANGLER jackets. More than $600,000 in cash and prizes was awarded in all.
