TRIBUNE Talk WGN-A/CHICAGO Dir./Sales WENDI POWER is exiting the station to join COX RADIO's TAMPA cluster as GM. POWER had been with WGN since 1995, when she joined as AE; she was promoted to LSM in 1998 and DOS in 2003.
"WGN has been the most wonderful radio station in the world to work for," said POWER. "I'm so blessed to have had the chance to spend 15 years of my career here. The station is bigger than life."
Hill Upped To WGN DOS, Munro To LSM
WGN VP/GM TOM LANGMYER upped LSM JEFF HILL to Dir./Sales to replace POWER. HILL joined WGN in 2006 and served as GSM at WZZN (now WLS-F) and LSM at WLS-A/CHICAGO.
"WGN Radio has a long history of tremendous talent behind the mic and behind the scenes," said HILL. "I am honored by the opportunity to continue the great tradition of leadership of this sales team."
AE MATT MUNRO has been named LSM to fill HILL's former position. "I am looking forward to embracing this challenge and working with the strong team already in place," said MUNRO. "I firmly believe the station is in strong position to build upon its tradition of winning and am thrilled to be a part of writing the next great chapter in the legacy of this incredible station."
LANGMYER added, "We are very fortunate to have benefited from WENDI's leadership, creativity and passion. We'll miss her and wish her the best ... JEFF HILL and MATT MUNRO are experienced and excellent leaders. They're more than ready for the challenge, so we won't miss a beat."
