CLEAR CHANNEL Top 40/R KXJM (JAMMIN 107.5)/PORTLAND, OR has tweaked its positioning and is now using "WILD 107.5." OREGONMEDIACENTRAL.COM reports, "The station remains a mix of hip-hop and pop, and so far continues to hold the KXJM call letters. Their new slogan is 'PORTLAND's Party Hits.'
CLEAR CHANNEL/PORTLAND OM TOMMY AUSTIN told ALL ACCESS, "KXJM has three owners in two years and was traditionally branded as a Hip Hop station with low ethnicity combined with PPM that's a tough road, and we need to be a hit music station, not known for fringe music. With the new direction and name WILD 107.5, we think we have found the Pop/Rhythmic pop center for PORTLAND."
This is the latest change at the outlet, which let its longtime morning show, THE PLAYHOUSE , hosted by PK, go in DECEMBER 2009 (NET NEWS 12/1/2009).
PK has since joined his former PD MARK ADAMS at CBS RADIO Top 40 KKHH (HOT 95.7)/HOUSTON (NET NEWS 2/22).
