Country artist PAM TILLIS had joined the Board of Directors for WHEELING JAMBOREE, INC., a non-profit corporation established to preserve the nation’s second oldest radio and live performance program, THE WHEELING JAMBOREE, which is based in WHEELING, WV. TILLIS replaces retiring founding Director DOUG PAISLEY, father of ARISTA/NASHVILLE star BRAD PAISLEY.
TILLIS said: "Radio shows like the JAMBOREE are an endangered species. They only survive if artists are passionate about their importance on the musical landscape."
NASHVILLE-based artist manager MATT SPICHER is also joining the board. MATT is the son of WHEELING JAMBOREE member of the late 1950s and early '60s, BUDDY SPICHER and has worked in NASHVILLE as an engineer, producer, independent label head and artist manager. He replaces retiring board member BRIAN LONG.
Also, THE WHEELING JAMBOREE 77th Anniversary program is set to place APRIL 3rd at WHEELING'S CAPITOL THEATRE. For more information on THE WHEELING JAMBOREE, see www.wheelingjamboree.org.
