Former CBS RADIO Talk KDKA-A/PITTSBURGH news reporter ROB MILFORD's legal situation cleared up TUESDAY when he pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of carrying a gun without a permit, a charge arising from the JUNE 2008 incident in which MILFORD inadvertently brought a gun into a courthouse.
MILFORD was ordered to pay court costs but incurred no additional penalties. The judge, JEFFREY A. MANNING, chose to drop even a probation deal that had been reached with prosecutors, and declined to impose any other punishment.
MILFORD maintained throughout the case that he was unaware the gun was in his briefcase, and told the PITTSBURGH TRIBUNE-REVIEW, "This has been incredibly painful for myself and my family.... I’m relieved to have it behind me, and just want to get on with my life, and try and resume my career." MILFORD was suspended and then fired by KDKA after the incident.
