Conclave Names Radio Scholarship Winners

The CONCLAVE has announced its 2010 Conclave Radio Scholarship winners. CHRISTOPHER CURRIE won the 2010 BILL GAVIN Memorial Scholarship; The Specs Howard scholarship award is worth $12,000. What's more, JEENA DENNISON, BRANDON ADAMS and TYLER JAMES NESSET are the recipients of the 2010 DENNIS BECKER Memorial Scholarships to BROWN COLLEGE in MINNEAPOLIS. Each of the three Brown College scholarships is worth $17,000, for a total radio scholarship value of $51,000. The Music Industry Scholarship to MCNALLY-SMITH COLLEGE OF MUSIC/ST. PAUL will be awarded next month.
"The winners were selected by judges who used a talent matrix, listening to each applicant’s audition entry for reading ability, ad lib skills, creativity, articulation, and interpretation," CONCLAVE Scholarship Dir. KAROL BAUMEISTER said. "And the entrants were convincing! One of the winners had a great story about lobster-diving off the coast of FLORIDA. By the end of her story, the judges' mouths were watering!"
The 2010 Radio Industry Scholarship Winners will be presented their scholarships at the 35th Annual CONCLAVE Learning Conference in JULY.
