March 25, 2010 at 12:45 PM (PT)
The "Scrubs in the Morning" show, which is simulcast on CITADEL Country WTNR/GRAND RAPIDS, MI and CITADEL Country WFBE/FLINT, has wrapped up its efforts to help GRAND RAPIDS 12 year old BLARE GOOCH in his efforts to raise bears for the children of HAITI (NET NEWS 1/22). After hearing about the story, STEVE “SCRUBS” STEWART, APRIL ROSE and JOE “FLOUNDER” PIESZ invited BLARE into the studio to tell listeners about his plan to raise 2000 bears. As on MONDAY (3/23), BLARE and SCRUBS IN THE MORNING have collected over 32,000 bears and stuffed animals to ship to the children of HAITI through the RAYS OF HOPE FOR HAITI organization.
BLARE said: "I think I've learned you can be small and still manage to do something big to help someone who's hurting. I never imagined this would become so awesome."
