Webb Spins Out Of The Loop, Gamboa Upped To MD

EMMIS Classic Rocker WLUP (THE LOOP)/CHICAGO PD RICK BALIS has announced several changes at the station. Chief among them is the departure of MD/afternoon-drive man EDDIE WEBB this FRIDAY for opportunities in syndication that will be announced at a later date. 

“We hate to see him go, but we get it," BALIS says. "It's an exciting new era for him.” 

His imminent departure has led to a chain of events.  Sister Alternative WKQX (Q101) & WLUP Assistant MD NICOLE GAMBOA is promoted to the vacant MD post. Taking WEBB's afternoon shift will be morning man BYRD, starting APRIL 19th, while PETE MCMURRAY will move from nights to mornings. 

In other LOOP news, WALTER FLAKUS will be doing some part-time fill-in duties  FLAKUS has most recently worked at XM and Q-PRIME.
