AMERICAN IDOL SEASON 7 winner DAVID COOK took a flight to ETHIOPIA this week but not for a concert like most would think.

COOK and his guitarist NEAL TIEMANN traveled to ETHIOPIA on behalf of the UNITED NATIONS FOUDNATION and "Idol Gives Back" to raise awareness on the challenges facing teenage girls in the area.

While there, the Idol winner told the LA TIMES "Very few people here know who I am. We had to explain to the little girls who I was and why I was there. But we did get a chance to play some music for them."

"Idol Gives Back" will air on APRIL 21st on FOX.
