CLEAR CHANNEL Talk WHAM-A/ROCHESTER and host BOB LONSBERRY have been hit with a slander (broadcast libel) lawsuit arising from an accidental shooting death in upstate NEW YORK in 2007, reports the ROCHESTER DEMOCRAT AND CHRONICLE.
The suit alleges that LONSBERRY and CLEAR CHANNEL are being sued by JOHN GISEL, who accidentally shot BRANDON HAUGH on a hunting trip in DECEMBER 2007, and GISEL's sister JACQUELINE INZINGA, who called into LONSBERRY's show on MARCH 26th, 2009 to contest the deceased man's mother's assertion that GISEL never apologized for the incident.
INZINGA told LONSBERRY that GISEL was under counsel's instructions not to contact the victim's family, but LONSBERRY allegedly suggested that the incident was not accidental and allegedly called GISEL a "cold-blooded murderer."
The suit seeks $3 million in damages from CLEAR CHANNEL and LONSBERRY.
