FTC Filing Reveals Liberty Increasing Sirius XM Stake
April 8, 2010 at 4:25 AM (PT)
LIBERTY MEDIA is looking to purchase an additional stake in SIRIUS XM RADIO, according to a filing with the FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION. The filing does not publicly disclose any details of the transaction, but LIBERTY is restricted from owning more than 49.9% of the company until 2011. It presently owns about 40% of the company's equity.
The FTC granted early termination of the deal, which constitutes a determination that the agency and the DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE will not take any action against the deal during the waiting period, on MARCH 31st.
