Country Artists Help Raise $20,000 At Waddell & Reed Celebrity Golf Tournament

Country artists pitched in to help raise nearly $20,000 for CHRISTMAS FOR KIDS and the ARTHRITIS FOUNDATION at the 10th Annual WADDELL & REED CELEBRITIY GOLF TOURNAMENT on APRIL 1st. The tournament took place at the HERMITAGE GOLF COURSE in NASHVILLE. BURNS & POE, STEVE CROPPER, LARRY GATLIN, MARTY RAYBON, RICOCHET, THE ROYS, LITTLE TEXAS and THE GRASCALS were among the artists participating in the tournament.
KEITH BURNS, of BURNS & POE, said: “My mother has rheumatoid arthritis and raising money for that charity in particular, which is so important to me personally, made the event even more special. Calling on friends to work and play together strengthens Country music, makes me happy and does leaps and bounds for the charities.”
A live auction followed the tournament. The item bringing the biggest price tag was a RASCAL FLATTS concert and bus trip. The winning bidder will the opportunity to join the guys on the bus after a tour stop for their road home. Many of the artists who played in the tournament also joined in for an acoustic show that ran nearly four hours.
