AP Honors WPRO-A/WEAN

The ASSOCIATED PRESS has bestowed News Talk WPRO-A and simulcast WEAN/PROVIDENCE with three First Place awards in the 2010 MASSACHUSETTS/RHODE ISLAND AP Radio/Television Contest. The stations received a First Place award for its daily WPRO First News with BILL HABERMAN newscasts and for its Breaking News coverage of a four-alarm fire on APRIL 23rd at New England Boatworks. The WPRO news division also received a First Place award for Reporter STEVE KLAMKIN’s investigative report of a loophole in RHODE ISLAND law, since closed, that legalized indoor prostitution.
