Magna Forecasts Ad Revs To Rise 3% In 2010

INTERPUBLIC’s MAGNA has issued yet another updated 2010 forecast, and is now forecasting U.S. advertising revenue to increase 3% this year to $167.7 billion. The report says advertising may rise at a 3.5% from 2010 to 2015, excluding political and Olympic advertising on TV. That's up from a previous forecast of 2.3%.
In it's JANUARY forecast (NET NEWS 1/20), MAGNA said local radio is projected at $12.8 billion in ad revenues in 2010, which would be down 2.5% from 2009's $13.1 billion.
Online will be the fastest-growth medium this year, with a projected gain of 13%. MAGNA projects online ads may generate $42.7 billion in revenue, or 22% of the total, by 2015.
