Triple A Celebrates Earth Day

Several Triple A stations are celebrating EARTH DAY's 40th anniversary this APRIL. They include:
ENTERCOM Triple A KMTT/SEATTLE's annual 103.7 THE MOUNTAIN's EARTH DAY concert took place TUESDAY, APRIL 13th at The Moore Theatre. This year’s event featured TRAIN and ONE ESKIMO. All concertgoers brought canned food and during the evening, KMTT presented the WILDERNESS SOCIETY a check of the proceeds from "Live from the Mountain Music Lounge" Vol. 15.
NORTHEAST BROADCASTING Triple A WXRV (THE RIVER)/BOSTON is planning a free lunchtime concert celebrating the 40th Anniversary of EARTH DAY on THURSDAY APRIL 22nd at the ROSE KENNEDY Greenway. Set to perform are THEY MIGHT BE GIANTS and CITIZEN COPE. The Rose Kennedy Greenway, a mile-long ribbon of open space, was created when BOSTON's elevated six-lane highway was demolished and the Central Artery Project completed.
This year marks the debut of CBS Triple A WZGC (929 DAVE FM)/ATLANTA’s "EARTH DAY Birthday" party. This year’s inaugural event will take place SUNDAY, APRIL 25th at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater at Encore Park. It features BEN HARPER AND RELENTLESS 7, GUSTER and ALBERTA CROSS.
ALPHA BROADCASTING Triple A KINK/PORTLAND, OR, will be having its annual EARTH DAY concert on APRIL 22nd. The event features JACKIE GREENE AND ONE ESKIMO. Proceeds from the concert will benefit The FRESHWATER TRUST.
DOT COM PLUS Triple A WZEW/MOBILE will hold a series of lunchtime concerts WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY and FRIDAY (APRIL 21st-23rd) to celebrate Earth Day. On WEDNESDAY the station will partner with the Keep Mobile Beautiful foundation and encourage listeners to bring their old phone books for recycling and in return they will receive a CD from the prize closet. This will take place in downtown MOBILE at Beinville Square and will feature a performance by local musician REBECCA BARRY.
SAGA Triple A WRSI/NORTHAMPTON, MA is teaming up with public television station WGBY and presenting a DAR WILLIAMS/PATTY LARKIN concert with a free outdoor EARTH DAY festival prior to the show on SUNDAY, APRIL 25th.
PITTSBURGH COMMUNITY BROADCASTING Triple A WYEP/PITTSBURGH is recognizing EARTH DAY with a brand new series of workshops dedicated to going green. The workshops are open to the public and will run from APRIL 21st to JUNE 5th, which is World Environment Day. This year PITTSBURGH is hosting a conference around this occasion.
SAGA Triple A WCNR (THE CORNER)/CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA, is working with a local organization called "Earth Week" that runs an EARTH DAY Eco-Fair event at the Charlottesville Pavilion. CORNER staff will host/emcee the event and broadcast on-site.
TUNED IN BROADCASTING Triple A WRLT/NASHVILLE is also tying in with local organizations that have acitivities planned for EARTH DAY.
