DESERET MANAGEMENT CORP., parent of BONNEVILLE INTERNATIONAL and KSL BROADCAST GROUP, has made changes to its management structure in advance of KSL President/CEO BOB JOHNSON's pending exit on MAY 1st to join DESERET MUTUAL BENEFIT ADMINISTRATORS.
MARK WILLES, President and CEO of DESERET MANAGEMENT, will add JOHNSON's CEO duties for KSL BROADCAST GROUP, which operates NBC affiliate KSL-TV and Talk KSL-A-F/SALT LAKE CITY. DESERET BOOK CO. EVP/COO JEFF SIMPSON will become EVP/COO of KSL, reporting to WILLES, while kSL VPs CON PSARRAS and MICHELLE KETTLE TORSAK will also now report directly to WILLES.
"All of us involved with the KSL BROADCAST GROUP are pleased for the opportunity BOB JOHNSON has to lead DESERET MUTUAL," said WILLES. "He has served for two decades in the management of KSL and related broadcast properties and has produced exceptional financial and nonfinancial results."
"I am both humbled by this opportunity and excited by its prospects," said SIMPSON. "Working with amazing authors, artists and associates within the DESERET BOOK family has given me a chance to be immersed in stories and products that are particularly meaningful. Similarly, KSL is passionate about its stories and audience."
