VOX AM/FM, LLC has asked the FCC for a silent STA to take Classic Rock WCVR-F (V102)/RANDOLPH, VT silent. The station, which went dark on APRIL 1st, is in the process of being sold to VERMONT PUBLIC RADIO for $435,000. VOX told the Commission that "the current state of the economy" was to blame for the shutdown.

The Commission also received an application from IHR EDUCATIONAL BROADCASTING for a new AM at RED BLUFF, CA. The station would be at 1580 AM with 3,000 watts days and 1,500 watts at night.
