Pure Country On Broadway Delayed Indefinitely
April 29, 2010 at 11:56 AM (PT)
The “Pure Country on BROADWAY” musical has been forced to close its doors due to economic reasons. SHOW DOG-UNIVERSAL MUSIC/NASHVILLE's JOE NICHOLS was set to play the main character role of "RUSTY" and COUNTRY CROSSING/NASHVILLE's LORRIE MORGAN was to play his manager "LULA."
All rehearsals have been delayed indefinitely for the musical.
JOE told CMT: "The status is, I don't think it's going to happen for me. When they backed up the show, it put us in a difficult situation, because we had blocked off about six to eight months of time just for that show. That's without touring, no media, no nothing. I just don't see that we could probably take another six-month gap in our schedule, especially with how hot 'Gimmie That Girl' is and the album. But if we're in it, it might be a long shot."
