The FCC is seeking comment on changes to its rules governing the construction, marking, and lighting of antenna structures.
The changes, proposed under the biennial review of the rules, include adding to the registration process "a provision clarifying that the FAA’s recommended specifications are generally mandatory, but that the Commission may specify additional or different requirements"; a provision that "any change in height of one foot or greater or any change in coordinates of one second or greater requires prior approval from the FAA and the Commission" for purposes of registration, plus changes to the degree of accuracy required for height information; and several other provisions, including the possible elimination of present inspection requirements.
Comments will be due 60 days after publication in the Federal Register, with replies 90 days after publication.
