Reba & Darius Go To Washington For July 4th

STARSTRUCK/VALORY MUSIC CO. artist REBA McENTIRE and CAPITOL/NASHVILLE’s DARIUS RUCKER will be a part of the 30th anniversary broadcast of “A Capitol Fourth,” live from the West Lawn of the UNITED STATES Capitol, celebrating the FOURTH OF JULY.
The show will be hosted by actor JIMMY SMITS, with performances by REBA, DARIUS, and classical pianist LANG LANG with the NATIONAL SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA under the direction of JACK EVERLY. Additional talent will be announced soon.
“A Capitol Fourth” will air SUNDAY, JULY 4th from 8-9:30p (ET) on PBS-TV. The show can also be heard on NPR member radio stations nationwide.
As part of the event, REBA will be presented with the NATIONAL ARTISTIC ACHIEVEMENT AWARD “in recognition of her dedication to enriching the national legacy of the performing arts, as well as her lifetime of musical contributions.” This is the fourth time the award has been given out, and previous recipients include STEVIE WONDER, GLORIA and EMILIO ESTEFAN and JOHN WILLIAMS.
