ESPN's local websites, most tied to the network's owned-and-operated radio stations, are rolling out iPHONE apps in time for the WORLD CUP this SUMMER.
The mobile apps, based on the ESPN PASSPORT platform, are launching for DALLAS (KESN (103.3 ESPN)), CHICAGO (WMVP-A (ESPN 1000)), BOSTON, LOS ANGELES (KSPN-A (710 ESPN)), and NEW YORK (WEPN-A (1050 ESPN)). The ESPNDALLAS.COM app will be the first to hit the iTUNES App Store; all of the apps will be free to download and will include local and national sports news, weather, blog posts and tweets from local contributors, and texting to the local radio stations.
