With the season nearing an end next week, wonderers are wondering not only who will take the "AMERICAN IDOL" crown, but who will fill the seat vacated by SIMON COWELL when he exits this year?

How about RYAN SEACREST?  

Doubtful, but it was funny to watch RYAN and SIMON, who were caught on-camera following this week's taping (the cameras even got inside COWELL'S personal trailer), as the outgoing judge offered SEACREST tips for how to properly critique contestants should he decide to sit in the judge's chair anytime next season.
