The legendary BLUEBIRD CAFÉ in NASHVILLE is about to launch “BIRDSONGS,” a series of shows which will benefit the BLUEBIRD. “BIRDSONGS” kicks off on TUESDAY, JUNE 1st with HALL OF FAME songwriters SONNY CURTIS, RICHARD LEIGH, and JIM WEATHERLY at 6p (CT). At 9p (CT) that same night, songwriter DON SCHLITZ, VINCE GILL and AMY GRANT, along with special guest MARY CHAPIN CARPENTER will perform. Tickets for these shows will go on sale tomorrow morning at 8a (CT) at http://www.bluebirdcafe.com.
When AMY KURLAND retired from running the BLUEBIRD, she wanted to make sure that it stayed in the hands of the songwriters—so it is now run by NSAI (NASHVILLE SONGWRITERS ASSOCIATION INTERNATIONAL). “In honor of this legacy and commitment, The Bluebird is seeking help from the songwriters it has long supported, to ensure the future of the club. And they are rallying to support the venue that has long provided the opportunity for them to be heard.”
“Historically The BLUEBIRD hosts over 50 shows annually for a variety of community organizations and causes.” Said COO ERIKA WOLLAM NICHOLS. “Stabilizing the future of The Bluebird not only benefits the songwriters but also provides our entire community with a venue to raise awareness of, and funds for, their causes.
