CHERRY CREEK RADIO's previously announced sale of silent KROP-A/BRAWLEY to LARDOG PRODUCTIONS LLC now has a dollar figure attached to it, as the FCC paperwork reveals a $250,000 price for the station. CHERRY CREEK moved its sister Top 40 KSIQ (Q96) into the SAN DIEGO market earlier this year.
In other deals filed with the FCC, COLLEGE CREEK MEDIA, LLC is selling silent KADQ/EVANSTON, WY to KENT FRANDSEN's FRANDSEN MEDIA COMPANY, LLC for $100,000.
TORRANCE COUNTY, NM is selling the construction permit for noncommercial KXNM/ENCINO, NM to KXNM 88.7 MH COMMUNITY FOUNDATION for $1 under the expiring construction permit rules.
GARY KATZ is assigning Adult Hits KAJK (99.3 JACK FM)/SUSANVILLE, CA to SIERRA RADIO for $10. KATZ is the principal in SIERRA RADIO. KATZ and JERRIE RINDAHL-KATZ are in turn selling one share of SIERRA RADIO to partner TOM F HUTH for $10, giving the KATZES and HUTH 50% each of the company. SIERRA also owns Classic Rock KTOR (99.7 THE TORCH)/WESTWOOD, CA.
CARPENTER TRANSLATOR GROUP is donating FM translator K299AM/CARPENTER, SD to MOODY BIBLE INSTITUTE OF CHICAGO.
And GETHSEMANE ANABAPTIST CHURCH is transferring low power FM WGNH-LP/LEXINGTON, SC to LAKE MURRAY BROADCASTING, INC. for $1.
In technical applications, MURPHY BROADCASTING SYSTEM has applied for a new AM at PAUKAA, HI (near HILO). The station, the original application for which was filed in the JANUARY 2004 AM major change filing window, would use 2,500 watts nondirectional on 1400 AM.
UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI noncommercial WUSM/HATTIESBURG, MS has applied to increase its power from the 900 watts in its construction permit to 3,000 watts at decreased height. The proposed power increase would increase the population covered by the station's protected contour from 102,815 to 113,533.
HARTLINE, LLC has applied to change the antenna at its AC WCLE-F (MIX 104.1)/CALHOUN, TN from directional to omnidirectional.
GOLD COAST BROADCASTING has applied to move Classic Rock KOCP (95.9 THE OCTOPUS)/CAMARILLO-OXNARD-VENTURA, CA and Top 40/Rhythmic KCAQ (Q104.7)/OXNARD to a new site. KOCP would use 1,000 watts at 245 meters HAAT and KCAQ would broadcast with 20,000 watts at 239 meters HAAT.
RADIO SOL BROADCASTING CORP. is applying for a nighttime power increase for its Spanish Variety WKCK-A/OROCOVIS, PR (CUMBRE 1470 AM), going from 2,500 to 3,700 watts with the existing nondirectional antenna system.
NEWBERRY BROADCASTING, INC. silent WWKN/MORGANTOWN, KY has applied for a new antenna location and decreased power from the presently permitted 6,000 watts to 650 watts at greater height.
HORIZON CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP has filed for a silent STA for its FM translator K223BM/WARREN, AR, saying that it is "in the process of dismantling its network of FM stations and translators and is in the process of assigning them to other noncommercial and commercial broadcasters. There are inadequate financial resources to keep the stations operating during this process."
And RADIOACTIVE, LLC has taken WNMR/DANNEMORA, NY silent, telling the FCC that the shutdown was due to "staffing issues" but that the station is expected to resume operations this month.
