RADIO COMMUNAUTAIRE FRANCOPHONE DE MONTRÉAL INC. has applied to the CRTC for a power increase for its French-language Type B community station CIBL/MONTREAL. The proposal would boost average effective radiated power from 221 watts to 1,003 watts at 192.5 meters HAAT.
In other CRTC filings, the CBC is asking to convert three FM rebroadcasting transmitters of its SOCIETE RADIO-CANADA LA PREMIERE CHAINE affiliate CBF-F/MONTREAL to rebroadcast LA PREMIERE CHAINE affiliate CHLM/ROUYN-NORANDA instead. The transmitters that would be converted are CBF-1/SENNETERRE, CBF-3/LEBEL-SUR-QUEVILLION. and CBF-4/MATAGAMI, QC.
BAYSHORE BROADCASTING CORP. is looking to move the transmitters of its AC CIXK (MIX 106.5) and Country CKYC (COUNTRY 93)/OWEN SOUND, ON. CIXK would decrease from 100000 to 28,000 watte and increase height from 171.7 to 189.6 meters HAAT at the new site; CKYC would go from 31,600 to 22,000 watts and from 114.1 to 214 meters. The move is intended to reduce the cost of maintaining multiple transmitter sites.
And 5777152 MANITOBA LTD. has proposed 107.5 FM as the frequency for its new CJIE/WINNIPEG BEACH-GIMLI-ARBORG, MB. The CRTC had previously said that it will issue a license for the station only if the applicant came up with an acceptable frequency for it.
