WLS Puts Rod Blagojevich On Hiatus During Trial

CITADEL Talk WLS-A/CHICAGO has put former ILLINOIS Governor ROD BLAGOJEVICH's SUNDAY show on hiatus while his federal corruption trial is underway. Jury selection for the trial is slated to start THURSDAY.
"I am grateful to have hosted my own show during this wilderness period," said BLAGOJEVICH, who announced his hiatus on DON WADE AND ROMA's morning show TODAY. "It gave me a chance to talk to people about a host of issues and topics and also help them understand that I am not the man prosecutors have portrayed me to be and that I did not do those things they say I did. But most importantly I want the people of ILLINOIS to know that I did not let them down or betray their trust. I thank all those who listened and especially the regular callers. I look forward to coming back to the show when the trial is over and I am vindicated, perhaps in an even better time slot.
"I thank WLS for hiring me and continuing to give me a voice even with this cloud over my head. That takes guts. I am looking forward to clearing my name and for the truth to come out. I am proud to be working for such a station."
