Blake Shelton Fan Club Party Raises Over $31K For LLS

REPRISE/NASHVILLE artist BLAKE SHELTON hosted his annual fan club party at NASHVILLE’s WILDHORSE SALOON last THURSDAY (6/10). Every year there is a theme at the event, and this year the fans called the shots for BLAKE’s set list. The sold-out crowd at the WILDHORSE got to request every song BLAKE would perform, and for every song he didn’t know, BLAKE would donate $20 to the LEUKEMIA LYMPHOMA SOCIETY (LLS).
His final tally at the end of the evening was $510. One special request was made by BEVERLY LAMBERT, mother of BLAKE’s fiancée, COLUMBIA/NASHVILLE artist MIRANDA LAMBERT. BEV requested the BLACK CROWES’ song “She Talks To Angels,” telling him she had a $100 request. If he didn’t know it, he had to double the donation. BLAKE and the band put their heads together and ended up performing the song.
“Dancing With The Stars” finalist and ESPN correspondent ERIN ANDREWS was at the party and had a special request for “Whiskey Bent And Hell Bound” by HANK WILLIAMS JR. However, she asked that CAPITOL/NASHVILLE artist DIERKS BENTLEY sing it instead of BLAKE. The crowd went wild when DIERKS took the stage as a surprise guest and sang the song. Other surprise guests included MERCURY/NASHVILLE’s LAURA BELL BUNDY and MIRANDA LAMBERT, who did a duet of TINA TURNER’s “Proud Mary.”
When the night was said and done, the fan club party raised over $31,000 for LLS. For more on BLAKE SHELTON, check out www.blakeshelton.com.
