PREMIERE RADIO NETWORKS gets a LOS ANGELES clearance for GLENN BECK, who joins the lineup at SALEM Talk KRLA-A for 6-9a (PT) weekdays starting JULY 6th. BECK had previously been heard in the market on KGIL-A in 2007-09. The addition of KRLA brings BECK's roster to 400 affiliates.
BECK said, "I have been doing radio since I was 13 years old, so this milestone is particularly meaningful to me. I am glad to join KRLA and look forward to continuing to grow our show as we bring the fusion of entertainment and enlightenment to millions of listeners every day."
"GLENN is the perfect complement to our schedule. This truly enhances the strength of our all-star SALEM lineup," said PD CHUCK TYLER.
KRLA is moving SALEM's MIKE GALLAGHER to afternoons 5-8p (PT) to make way for BECK in mornings. "It is a humbling testimonial to MIKE GALLAGHER's solid appeal in the highly-competitive Los Angeles radio market to have KRLA trust MIKE with its critical Afternoon Drive shift," said SALEM RADIO NETWORK VP/News and Talk Programming TOM TRADUP. Noting that GALLAGHER has been inked for another year as a regular commentator on FOX NEWS CHANNEL, TRADUP added, "For a small-town kid from OHIO like MIKE, it was a great week: landing PM Drive in LOS ANGELES the same time he was being renewed on the top cable news outlet in AMERICA."
