The CMA MUSIC FESTIVAL, which was held JUNE 10th-13th, brought in a total of $24 million dollars to NASHVILLE, according to the NASHVILLE CONVENTION & VISITORS BUREAU. NASHVILLE hotels were nearly 95 percent booked during the four nights of the festival, with occupancy rates at hotels up 12 percent over last year.
The occupancy figures this year were stronger on a percentage basis, in part because more guests filled fewer hotel rooms after the temporary loss of 2,700 rooms at the flooded GAYLORD OPRYLAND resort. Overall though, 700 more rooms were booked this year than last.
Attendance at the festival was up 17% over last year, with 65,000 fans in attendance daily, up from 56,000 in 2009.
