GUYANN Country KAFF/FLAGSTAFF, AZ MD JENNY BRAWN tells ALL ACCESS that the entire cluster, which includes Classic Country KAFF-A, Hot AC KTMG, Classic Rock KMGN and Oldies KNOT-A/F, is on “FIRE WATCH 2010.” All stations have been giving round-the-clock coverage with the latest information on the wildfire that is currently burning across 10,000 acres in FLAGSTAFF, forcing over 750 people to evacuate their homes so far.
BRAWN reports that there have not been any deaths or any houses that have been destroyed so far. Air shifts that are normally voicetracked are being done ‘live’ now, with the jocks providing the latest information on shelters in the area and taking calls from listeners about what’s going on. The stations’ websites are also being updated constantly with the latest information.
The mayor of FLAGSTAFF also issued an honorary “call to action” for residents to thank firefighters TODAY (6/22) by putting out signs, thanking them personally and showing their support for their hard work during this time. For more info, contact JENNY at firstname.lastname@example.org.
