Peter Walker Tapped To Head New Univision Division

Former TRIBUNE BROADCASTING SVP PETER WALKER has joined UNIVISION COMMUNICATIONS as President of UNIVISION LOCAL MEDIA, a new division that oversees operations and sales for the company's local TV and radio stations and interactive properties. WALKER, who will start on JULY 12th, will be based in NEW YORK and report to Pres./CEO JOE UVA.
UVA said, "Organizing all aspects of our local operations under UNIVISION LOCAL MEDIA will enable us to provide seamless service to our local advertisers, identify new ways to grow our relationships with our clients and partners, and leverage our local programming and content across the Company's platforms to enhance our local offerings for our audiences. PETER is the ideal person to lead this important charge for our Company, and we are thrilled to have someone of his caliber and industry reputation join the UNIVISION family. We are confident that his visionary leadership, unique local sales and operations expertise, and track record of success will be instrumental in guiding the growth of our centralized local operations."

Joanne Lynch Retires From Univision TV Stations
In addition, UNIVISION Television Station Group Pres. JOANNE LYNCH has announced her retirement, scheduled for the end of AUGUST.
"JOANNE has been a valued member of the UNIVISION family for almost two decades and we would like to thank her for her innumerable contributions to the growth and success of the organization as a whole, and in particular the station group and GALAVISION," said UVA. "We are grateful for her tireless dedication and we are happy that she will be able to pursue her dream that she's been planning for the past few years."
