Organizers of the free JIMMY BUFFETT & FRIENDS concert scheduled for THURSDAY (7/1) in GULF SHORES, AL announced YESTERDAY (6/28) that the show has been postponed to JULY 11th due to the possible affects of TROPICAL STORM ALEX in the GULF OF MEXICO. The storm is not expected to hit the area, but the storm surge could cause the water to wash up beneath the stage, causing instability of the stage in the sand.
BUFFETT said of the postponement: "Nobody hates this more than I do, but I guess, as the song says, it's hard to reason with hurricane season. For those going anyway, thank you ... For the rest of you, we will see you JULY 11th.”
Tickets for the JULY 1st date will be honored at the JULY 11th show. CMT executives are still determining production logistics for the possibility of airing the show on the network JULY 11th instead of the previously planned airdate of JULY 1st. The show will feature performances from BUFFETT, KENNY CHESNEY, ZAC BROWN BAND and many more.
