INTERSCOPE recording artist SNOOP DOOG is being sued by MICHAEL HENDERSON, a popular jazz bassist. In his suit HENDERSON claims SNOOP sampled portions of his music illegally. Specifically, the suit claims SNOOP used a sample of HENDERSON’s work in “HANDS ON THE WHEEL,” a track SNOOP collaborated on with WARZONE for a mix tape in 2008.
In addition, HENDERSON claims SNOOP and WARZONE illegally sampled and used a track HENDERSON wrote in their song “FLASHBACKS.” HENDERSON claims they lifted samples from “RIDING,” which he released in 1979 on his album “DO IT ALL.” HENDERSON is suing for copyright infringement and unfair competition.
