An NPD GROUP survey has concluded that 15 million people are seeking iTUNES "cloud service." "Cloud" is used to describe services and storage provided by the internet, reports TECHSURF.COM, which writes, "This is a good news for all the music companies and distributors."
The survey from NPD GROUP was conducted in MAY. In it, NPD got responses from 3,900 iTUNES users. They found that nearly 15 million people are ready to pay $10 per month for a service that allows them to listen to music.
NPD Sr. Entertainment Analyst RUSS CRUPNICK said, "We don’t yet know what, if any, effect these services might have on the traditional pay-per-download music model, or whether consumers will ultimately spend more on digital music overall, if or when any of these options eventually rolls out."
