Even with show cancellations and a fall causing back problems for BONO, U2 still topped the FORBES MAGAZINE list of the highest grossing acts in music. The group was the #1 earner, raking in an impressive $130 million in the last 12 months.
That bank deposit was enough to beat out #2 AC/DC ($114 million), BEYONCE, 3rd ($87 million), BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN #4 ($70 million), BRITNEY SPEARS in fifth place with $64 million and JAY-Z at #6 ($63 million)..
LADY GAGA was the only new name on the list -- landing at #7 with $62 million in earnings. That was enough to edge out her idol MADONNA (#8), who took in $58 million in the last year.
Rounding out the list were Country star KENNY CHESNEY, finishing 9th ($50 million). THE BLACK EYED PEAS, COLDPLAY and TOBY KEITH tied for 10th place with $48 million.
