SIRIUS SATELLITE RADIO CEO MEL KARMAZIN told the audience at the SPORTS BUSINESS JOURNAL's annual conference TUESDAY that the company's spending on talent and content is worth the investment.
REUTERS reports that KARMAZIN said of deals with HOWARD STERN, NASCAR, the NFL, and others that "It's scary how much they cost, but I would rather have them and find a way to make money with them rather than compete against them."
KARMAZIN, interviewed by JACK MYERS, said that he has already attempted to negotiate an extension with STERN but that "he wasn't interested. He'll take his chances when the contract is up."
