As previously reported (NET NEWS 7/23) , the lineup will include LINCOLN FINANCIAL MEDIA Sports KEPN-A (ESPN 1600)/DENVER morning duo VIC LOMBARDI & GARY MILLER for 7-9a (MT), former crosstown LINCOLN FINANCIAL MEDIA Sports KKFN (104.3 THE FAN) and KEPN-A (ESPN RADIO 1600) hosts CHAD ANDRUS and PATRICK WATSON 9a-noon, former UNIVERSITY OF COLORADO quarterbacks CHARLES JOHNSON and JOEL KLATT noon-3p, crosstown MILE HIGH SPORTS Sports KCKK-A host LES SHAPIRO with former crosstown Classic Rock KEFX (103.5 THE FOX) personality RICH GOINS 3-7p, and former KCKK host NATE KRECKMAN 7-10p. TONY DESIERE will host 5-7a.
"We're excited to be DENVER's Sport Station," said GM TOM "LOU FROM LITTLETON" MANOOGIAN. "With four pro teams and four division one universities, DENVER deserves a live and local sports station and we are here to provide it."
PD TIM SPENCE added, "87.7 THE TICKET is 'DENVER guys ... talking DENVER sports ... to DENVER Sports fans' in the best sports city in AMERICA."
FRONT RANGE recently purchased silent KJAC/TIMNATH-DENVER, CO-KCUV/GREENWOOD VILLAGE, CO-K245AD/ARVADA, CO and two boosters in BOULDER from NRC BROADCASTING for $5 million, but despite widespread reports that the Sports format would land on the KCUV frequency, the format is launching on the 87.7 FM signal, which has been airing Spanish Sports using ESPN DEPORTES.
