WEST VIRGINIA RADIO CORP. owner JOHN RAESE has announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination for Senate in the race to permanently fill the seat left vacant by the death of Sen. ROBERT BYRD (D-WV).
RAESE, who has run for Senate twice and WEST VIRGINIA Governor once, will be on the ballot for the AUGUST 28th primary; if he wins, he will likely face Democrat JOE MANCHIN, the current Governor, in the special election in NOVEMBER.
RAESE's company owns 15 radio stations and the METRONEWS service; he also owns the MORGANTOWN DOMINION POST and GREER INDUSTRIES.
