July 29, 2010 at 8:27 AM (PT)
Former CLEAR CHANNEL Smooth Jazz WZJZ-F/FT. MYERS/NAPLES, FL PD JOE TURNER joins MIX RADIO GROUP online Country MY KICKIN’ COUNTRY.com as afternoon host from 3-6p (PT). He replaces TIM REED.
MIX RADIO GROUP co-owner SCOTT EMRICK said: “When I heard JOE’S demo, I knew he so had that job. KICKIN’ COUNTRY is designed to sound like a Top 40 station that plays today’s new hot Country, and I love JOE’S enthusiasm. He is the guy we needed for afternoons and we are so fortunate to have him on our staff.”
TURNER added: “I’m thrilled that SCOTT brought me on board at KICKIN COUNTRY. SCOTT and his team have developed an incredible product; an online station that sounds like a terrestrial station without all of the clutter and politics that can cause a station to get stagnate. It’s been a few years since I’ve done the Country format but I’m having a blast. It’s totally not work, it’s fun, the way radio used to be!”
TURNER also voicetracks for SMOOTH JAZZ NOW.com. Prior to his work in FLORIDA, TURNER was PD at HICKS BROADCASTING Rock WRBR-F/SOUTH BEND, IN and was APD at FEDERATED MEDIA Country WBYT-F/SOUTH BEND, IN.
