WIth PRIYA AIYAR exiting the FCC to join the National Commission on the BP DEEPWATER HORIZON Oil Spill and Offshore Oil Drilling, ZAC KATZ has been named to succeed her as Legal Advisor to FCC Chairman JULIUS GENACHOWSKI, with particular responsibility for wireline communications, international, and Internet issues. KATZ has been serving as Deputy Chief of the Office of Strategic Planning and Policy Analysis, and previously worked in the WHITE HOUSE Counsel's Office and at MUNGER, TOLLES AND OLSON in LOS ANGELES.
"I am delighted that ZAC will be joining my staff," said GENACHOWSKI. "His legal and policymaking experience will make him an invaluable member of my team as we move forward on critical wireline and broadband issues, including reforming the Universal Service program."
"I am extremely grateful for PRIYA's tireless work to help develop and implement our communications agenda for the nation. She will be missed, but I wish her much continued success in her new position with the Oil Spill Commission. They will benefit greatly from her legal brilliance and keen judgment."
