CBSNewYork.com Testing, To Be Unveiled 'In Coming Weeks'

Among the topics at CBS CORPORATION's post-earnings-release conference call was CBS' local web initiative, which CEO LES MOONVES said would soon unveil the combined website for its three NEW YORK AM stations and local TV station, CBSNEYORK.COM, which he said is due "in the coming weeks."
CBSNEWYORK.COM, presently in beta form, offers news and local information for NEW YORK based on content from News WCBS-A, News WINS-A, Sports WFAN-A, and CBS O&O WCBS-TV (CBS 2HD). The site offers audio and video news reports and show highlights, event listings, and local shopping discounts.
MOONVES said that similar sites are planned for other CBS markets.
YESTERDAY (NET NEWS 8/3), ALL ACCESS reported a rebound in local advertising helped propel CBS CORP. revenue to jump 11% in Q2, as its net income rose nearly 10 times to $150.1 million. Local broadcasting revenue jumped 17% to $678 million. TV station revenue surged 31% while radio sales grew 6%.
