Fletcher Foster To Co-Produce 'American Country Awards'
August 4, 2010 at 7:23 AM (PT)
Following the announcement of FLETCHER FOSTER joining RED LIGHT MANAGEMENT (NET NEWS 8/3), FLETCHER tells ALL ACCESS he has signed on to co-produce the new AMERICAN COUNTRY AWARDS, set to air on FOX-TV on DECEMBER 6th at 8p (live ET/delayed PT) from LAS VEGAS. PAUL FLATTERY and TISHA FEIN are also producers of the show, which will feature performances and appearances by the year’s chart-topping Country artists and fan-voted awards.
FOSTER said: “So many of the AMERICAN IDOL contestants or winners were going to the Country format, so we thought there was a good link to tie in Country music with FOX. It’s going to be presented in a variety show format. There will be awards given out, but they won’t be your typical ‘Entertainer Of The Year’ or ‘Song Of The Year’ awards. The awards are secondary to what we want the show to be about. We want to make great performances on the show that are something you can’t see on the ACM and CMA Awards.”
Categories for the awards include “Artist Of The Year,” “Album Of The Year,” “Touring Artist Of The Year,” “Single Of The Year” and “Music Video By A Breakthrough Artist,” among others. Further details about the show will be announced as the date gets closer.
