Charley Pride Part Of Investment Group To Purchase Texas Rangers

The legendary CHARLEY PRIDE, a former professional baseball pitcher himself in the former Negro Leagues, is partnering with another baseball great, NOLAN RYAN, and a group of other investors to purchase the TEXAS RANGERS. 

PRIDE, whose biggest hits include “Kiss An Angel Good Morning,” “I’m Just Me,” and many others has been a big fan of the RANGERS for years and is a regular at their Spring Training Camp. He was also 'drafted" by the club in 2008 as part of MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL’s recognition of former Negro League players. Reportedly, PRIDE’s investment in the team is about $2.5 million, as the sale went for $593 million. The transaction to the 18-person investment group is still pending the approval of MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL.
