The TENNESSEAN is reporting that CKx, INC. (owner of AMERICAN IDOL and of 85% of ELVIS PRESLEY ENTERPRISES) has had two offers to buy ELVIS PRESLEY ENTERPRISES (EPE) – one from ROBERT SILLERMAN, the former CEO of CKx, INC., and an offer from SIMON FULLER, the creator of AMERICAN IDOL, who sold 19 ENTERTAINMENT to CKx in 2005.
SILLERMAN’s offer places a value on EPE between $512 million and $535 million. It is not known how much FULLER’s offer was worth. The sale of EPE is not expected to affect the ELVIS business, which saw a 10% increase in sales last year compared to 2008.
