Marvin Deane Passes

Condolences to the family and friends of MARVIN DEANE, a longtime music promo exec, who died TUESDAY of heart failure at CEDARS-SINAI MEDICAL CENTER in Los Angeles . He was 79.
DEANE ran the promotions departments for WARNER BROS. REPRISE and ABC DUNHILL RECORDS. He formed TETRAGRAMMATON RECORDS, a label that was responsible for signing such acts as DEEP PURPLE, with BILL COSBY and ROY SILVER.
A native of BROOKLYN, NY, DEANE worked with such artists as FRANK SINATRA, DEAN MARTIN, LIONEL RICHIE, DOLLY PARTON, THE EVERLY BROTHERS, CHAKA KHAN, WAYLON JENNINGS, ROY ORBISON and STEELY DAN and on more than 60 Gold and Platinum albums.
Survivors include wife KATHE, brothers MARTIN and CARL and sons JEFFREY and ANDREW, a producer and principal at Industry Entertainment. Services will take place at 4p TODAY (8/19) at Hillside Memorial Park and Mortuary in LOS ANGELES.
