The latest RTDNA/HOFSTRA UNIVERSITY annual survey of radio and television news salaries shows radio news salaries flat in 2009.
News directors, reporters, producers and sports reporters' salaries rose slightly, offsetting a slight decline in news and sports anchor salaries. The flat results followed a drop of 1.8% between 2007 and 2008. Local television news salaries rose 2.5% for 2009 after a 4.4% drop in 2008.
“With negative inflation in 2009, even flat salaries mean no loss in buying power,” said HOFSTRA journalism professor BOB PEPPER, who directed the survey.
