BBC Radio 4 Host Steps Down While Probed For Plagiarism
April 3, 2006 at 6:05 AM (PT)
Psychiatrist and TV personality Dr. RAJ PERSAUD has stepped down from hosting duties on BBC RADIO 4's "ALL IN THE MIND" while charges of plagiarism are investigated by a medical review board.
The investigation into similarities between articles by PERSAUD and works by American pschyatrist Dr. THOMAS BLASS was launched in DECEMBER; PERSAUD, well-known for his appearances on ITV1's "THIS MORNING," has acknowledged use of unattributed material from others but says that the omission of credit was due to inadvertent editing errors.
As the new series of "ALL IN THE MIND" launches on TUESDAY, guest hosts will fill in for PERSAUD, including Dr. TANYA BYRON and CLAUDIA HAMMOND.
